Wedding Cake Flowers

In recent years, the trend of incorporating flowers into wedding cakes has gained significant popularity. This beautiful addition not only enhances the visual appeal of the cake but also brings a touch of nature's elegance to the overall wedding décor. Here’s how to thoughtfully incorporate floral elements into your wedding cake.

Your Wedding Day Signage and Flowers

In the world of weddings, details matter. From the floral arrangements to the smallest signage, each element contributes to the overall aesthetic and ambiance of your celebration. Among these, welcome signs, seating chart signage, and unplugged signs often serve as functional yet beautiful pieces. Incorporating flowers into these signs not only enhances their visual appeal but also aligns them seamlessly with your overall floral design theme.

The Elevated Centerpiece

When it comes to wedding receptions, centerpieces play a crucial role in setting the tone and elevating the overall aesthetic of your celebration. Among the various styles available, elevated centerpieces have gained traction for their ability to add drama and visual interest to the wedding reception experience.

The Compote Centerpiece

Compote centerpieces, which are elevated, footed vessels used for floral arrangements, have their roots in the 17th-century French dessert "compote" (fruit cooked in syrup) and evolved into a versatile serving dish and decorative element. The compote centerpiece is a classic and absolutely one of our favorites. They are so elegant and adaptable to so many styles and settings.

The Sweetheart Table

The sweetheart table is an ever growing alternative to the traditional head table at a wedding reception. It allows for a more intimate experience for the new married couple. When properly placed with in the floor plan of the reception, the sweetheart table will provide those special moments of togetherness while still being an integral part of the environment without missing out or feeling set apart.

2024 Wedding Reception Galley

We had an amazing 2024 wedding season! We had a great mix of wedding reception floral designs in 2024. Compote centerpieces, the trio of bud vases, and the elevated centerpieces continue to be a popular choice among our couples for their wedding reception guest table centerpieces.

2024 Wedding Ceremony Gallery

We had just fantastic experiences doing ceremony installation for our 2024 wedding season. We worked with some amazing brides and fabulous venues. The arbor-style wedding focal structure continues to be a popular choice with couples and venues.

Boho Style

The boho wedding style has been on the scene for awhile now, so there is lots of inspiration out there available to current brides planning their wedding. When if comes to florals for boho brides, we find that using those natural, earthy colors with a mix of fresh flowers, muted greenery, and dried elements is the key.

The Calla Lily

There’s just something about an open-cut calla lily; Its uniqueness, its grace, it is a stand-alone statement. When Laurin sent her inspiration images, we were instantly in love with her vision. The pure elegance of the calla lily bridal bouquet with the stylishness of the single calla lily for the bridesmaids was a change of pace that we were happy to embrace.

The Brightness of Summer

Sydney envisioned her wedding day full of color. Bright, vibrant colors to make a statement, a bold summer statement. We first delivered the personal flowers to Sydney at her Airbnb. We knew right away we had gotten the color palette right! With hair and makeup in full swing, there was a lot of excited chatter as we walked in with boxes of brightly colored flowers.

Ceremony Floral Installations

The purpose of the ceremony floral installation is to create a frame for the couple. The ceremony floral installation can be anything from freestanding pedestals with floral arrangements placed to flank the couple and the officiant to wedding arches and arbors with floral pieces designed to enhance the structure.

The Cascade Bouquet

It seems to be the perfect timing for cascade bouquets. The 2022 and 2023 wedding seasons have paved the way for the cascade bouquet to take center stage in 2024. It’s lovely to see the style of Princess Diana, Mariah Carey, and Topanga making a resurgence.

A Peacock Wedding

We first met Carlos and Michael when they started visiting our flower shop. They became very good customers (and still are) of our retail flower shop. Then, Carlos stopped in one day to purchase flowers with the intent of proposing to Michael. (Yay!!!!)

The Wedding of John and Kanani

In the spirit of Aloha, John and Kanani were married at District 5 Schoolhouse on July 22, 2022. Kanani is Hawaiian and spent many years living on the Big Island of Hawaiian with her ohana. When it came time for Kanani to select her wedding flowers, it was the perfect way for her to pay tribute to her heritage and her love of Hawaii.

Michigan Grown

Since another Michigan growing season is drawing to a close, I thought it would be a good time to reflect on designing with local flowers. I’m a big fan of the aesthetic local flowers provide, and designing with these blooms brings an arrangement to the next level. It’s not just the stems themselves that add this extra element, it’s the experience of knowing the full story, the answers to the 5 Ws.

Sunflower Season

Sunflowers continue to resonate for both retail and wedding customers. Many continue to ask for and seek out sunflowers. Right now in August, we are in this glorious time of year where all our sunflowers are locally grown and abundantly available.
